Alastair qualified as a barrister and has over 30 years' experience in specialist tax advisory work for quoted and unquoted companies, and individuals.  His practice involves tax advice and related legal work for investment banks and banks, hedge funds and asset management businesses, property companies and funds, trust companies, owner managed businesses, and estate planning for individuals, and the conduct of tax enquiries and tax litigation.

Alastair graduated from Cambridge University with a BA (Law) and a postgraduate LLB in 1976, and was called to the Bar in 1977.  He practiced in specialist tax chambers for 8 years, then was a tax partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers.  He joined GSC in 2009.
